Our Client is a global leader in household appliances and appliances for professional use, selling more than 40 million products to customers in more than 150 markets every year. The Development Engineer role includes creating innovative, verified technical solutions for new products. To do this there needs to be a closely cooperation with Development Leader, Tech & Lab, IDC, production/ supplier and the tooling team. In the Engineering role the skills in CAD (Catia V5) and designing plastic parts for molding is very important. As a Development Engineer - your main responsibilities are: - Report progress, risks and deviation to plans to the Development Leader
- Assure that technically feasible and well-verified and defined solutions are chosen for the product
- Selected solutions must be based on cross-functional input (IDC, Marketing, Purchasing, Production.) and agreed with Development Leader
- Creation of technical documentation (Smarteam, 3D/2D/specifications)
- Evaluate test results and identify, plan and implement actions to fulfill specification
- Support Marketing, IDC, Production/supplier, Tech & Lab, Purchasing, Tooling team, Quality and other functions involved in the project with product know-how
- Master or Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Ability to manage and develop a team of direct reports
- Team player with excellent ability to work in cross functional and international teams
- Strong interpersonal skills and can interact effectively with various cultures and hierarchical levels
- Deep technical interest and a willingness to learn
- Problem solver with very good analytical skills
- Designing plastic parts for injection moulding
- 3D modelling in CAD, preferable CatiaV5, with a few years of experience
- Product design including ergonomics, especially for vacuum cleaners
- Product knowledge in developing mass market products
- Presentation skills, including the ability to describe technical findings in an simple way
- Excellent communication skills in English (oral, written and graphic)
- Process and target oriented Willingness to drive and implement change
