Our Client pursued multiple opportunities in the 21st Licencing Round. They were successful in application and award of five new licences, two of which host significant ‘growth’ potential in the Barents Sea.

Primarily the individual will be charged with increasing our portfolio of drillable, globally competitive opportunities by identifying and acquiring new inventory through the licence rounds, farm-ins &/or trades. The individual will be embedded within the Atlantic Margin Team where the current ‘growth’ agenda is focusing on the Barents Sea, while also securing that we’re appropriately staging our evaluations for access to future areas that are anticipated to open in future license rounds, e.g. Norwegian Sea & Barents Sea ‘Gray Zone’.
Tasks:
- Identify and mature significant Growth opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with the New Play team to expand the exploration portfolio.
- Apply regional understanding to discussions with partners to influence the work programs in the licenses.


- MsC degree in geophysics.

- Strong geophysical fundamentals with interpretation experience both in regional 2D & 3D seismic.
- Ability to conduct geophysical interpretations that integrate an understanding of the petroleum system elements, and support palaeogeographic interpretations.
- Proven ability to generate, prioritize and mature exploration inventory (ideas, leads, prospects), through to investment consideration.
- Skilled user with standard geological/geophysical software suites (e.g. Seisworks/Powerview, Geoprobe, Stratworks, Petrosys, and visualization tools).


Fluent English is required.

- Fundamental regional geological knowledge of the North Sea, Norwegian Sea, and/or Barents Sea
- Developing geophysical expertise in several areas (e.g. integration of rock physics modelling, attribute analysis, velocity modelling, etc)
- Practiced application of sequence stratigraphic principle and play fairway mapping, in clastic environments (fluvial to deep marine)
- Good regional structural interpretation experience, and ability to interpret robust prospect specific interpretations
- Proactive working style that compliments efficient definition and execution of integrated work programs, within aggressive timelines
- Ability to distinguish a good idea and personal drive to follow-up appropriately
- Strong internal and external professional networks, and ability to leverage knowledge
