Our Client is one of the leading energy companies in Europe and internationally. On behalf of Our Client, we are now looking from a Senior Business Controller from Energy Industry
The Business Controlling function provides dedicated financial planning, budgeting, management reporting and analysis support to the various business lines and functions and it operates in a matrix structure. This position acts as a dedicated Business Controlling support and Finance Business Partner to the local portfolio management organisation in addition to being a key interface to Central Portfolio Management Controlling.
- Coordinate the budgeting, planning and actuals closing and reporting processes within the LPM organization;
- Prepare mid-term plans, annual budgets, revised forecasts and best estimates (mainly volumes and full P&L) for the LPM (Local Portfolio Management) segment;
- Deliver monthly actuals closing and reporting for the LPM segments to local Management, including COGS, revenue and transfer price analyses;
- Own the monthly reporting process to Corporate and CPM in line with PRB principles;
- Be responsible for the mark-to-market assessment and reporting for gas and electricity;
- Supervise and co-ordinate the monthly closing in the Corporate deal capturing system;
- Periodically reconcile the deal capturing tool vs the reporting/controlling tool;
- Work closely with Risk Management to properly identify and mitigate risks associated with physical positions;
- Provide inputs and assumptions for cash flow projections to Central Controlling;
- Prepare P&L variance analyses with accompanying business commentaries for the budgets and actuals;
- Support LPM Management with presentations and ad-hoc financial analyses;
- Follow market dynamics, regulatory changes, competition and industry developments and proactively assess their impact on profitability and cash flow;
- Critically challenge LPM business assumptions;
- Act as a focal point on all controlling issues related to LPM;
- Maintain an excellent line of communication and cooperation with LPM personnel and other departments;
- Continuously educate the LPM personnel on Finance processes;
- Actively participate in and implement for LPM company-wide controlling initiatives;
- As a member of the Business Controlling community, contribute to the functional change management agenda;
- Masters degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration from a reputable university;
- Minimum 6-8 years of relevant post qualification experience in finance, accounting or business controlling positions;
- At least 4 years of work experience in a Finance/Controlling function supporting energy portfolio management;
- Thorough knowledge of derivative products and their accounting/reporting treatment;
- Extensive financial modeling experience;
- Working knowledge of IFRS and Hungarian Accounting Standards;
- Strong SAP, excel and financial systems skills;
- Fluency in written and spoken English;
